We are incredibly proud to share that book&zvook, Croatia's first digital platform for audiobooks, will participate in the 2026 London Book Fair, from March 10–12 at Olympia London, with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media and the Ministry of Economy, co-financed by the European Union. Together with Sandorf Publishing, a respected publisher and literary agency representing regional authors worldwide, we will bring the very best of our work to one of the most important publishing stages in the world!
At book&zvook, our mission has always been clear—to bring books closer to new generations of listeners and to build a bridge between traditional publishing and the digital age. We believe that literature deserves to be heard as much as read, and that audiobooks offer a new and exciting way to experience stories, ideas, and voices.
In London, we will present not only our growing collection of audiobooks but also the technology that powers our platform. We will arrive in London with our catalogue grown to over 200 audiobooks, over 35,000 active users, and 60,000 app downloads—a milestone that confirms the demand for quality audio content, especially in underrepresented languages like Croatian.
For us, the London Book Fair 2026 will be a chance to showcase something particularly close to our acoustic heart: contemporary Croatian literature in English translation. Through this special edition, we will share some of Croatia's most remarkable literary voices with a global audience. Each audiobook will be carefully produced to honor the essence and depth of the original works while delivering an engaging and immersive listening experience. This is storytelling that travels across borders, languages, and cultures, something we truly believe the world is eager to hear.
We are also excited that book&zvook will sponsor the panel "From the Fringes of Europe to the World: The Expansion of Global Literature," taking place at the Literary Translation Centre on Wednesday, 11 March, 16:00–17:00. The panel will bring together three acclaimed authors whose work reflects the rising international recognition of Southeast European literature: Aleksandar Hemon, Rumena Bužarovska, and EBRD Literature Prize 2025 winner Ivana Bodrožić. Moderated by Sandorf Passage co-founder and publisher Buzz Poole, the conversation will explore how local stories travel beyond their immediate contexts, how translation works as both craft and cultural negotiation, and how literature from small or minority languages finds resonance with international readers.
Here's what we'll be bringing to London:
A curated collection of Croatian literature in English, available on book&zvook and major audiobook platforms.
The panel "From the Fringes of Europe to the World: The Expansion of Global Literature," sponsored by book&zvook.
Live demos of our platform, giving visitors a chance to listen, explore, and experience our app firsthand.
Exclusive promo codes to enjoy select Croatian audiobooks.
Our platform ensures seamless global distribution, allowing our audiobooks to reach listeners everywhere while celebrating the richness of linguistic and cultural heritage. What makes us especially proud is our culturally sensitive production model, where we blend cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of language and tradition. This balance of innovation and authenticity underpins a scalable, repeatable approach to producing audiobooks in languages that often don't get the spotlight they deserve—and it is this scalability, backed by institutional and EU support, that positions book&zvook for sustained growth beyond Croatia's borders.
For us, audiobooks are so much more than a new way to enjoy literature. They're powerful tools for education, language learning, and personal growth. We believe that with book&zvook, we're not just keeping up with the future of publishing—we're helping to shape it.
We will be back at the London Book Fair in 2027—looking forward to sharing our stories with you again!
